Author Topic: I'm investing in a Home Audio System and I need a wee bit of help!  (Read 803 times)

Since my old Xbox 360 died, I have my sights on the new Xbox 360 slim 320GB Halo 4 limited edition which is going to cost me approximately 371 dolla dolla bill yall on black friday. Now onto my problem, I am wanting a home audio system that delivers a richer experience then what my HDTV can provide audio wise.

My budget is 700 dollars, taking away the cost of the X-Box leaves me with 329 dollars to play with (Approximately).
When I was speaking with a guy over the phone who works at HHgregg, he said that I would also need to buy a digital optical audio cable along with the HAS. He recommended the "monster" brand cable for quality reasons which is like 50 dollars.

I did not know there was a difference in quality with audio optical cables. Ugh. Now this has gotten even more complicated.
So am now starting to look at sound bars.
This is what im needing help with:
Digital audio cables
HAS = home audio systems (blu-ray is preferable) (smart enabled? - no preference) (needs at least 1 hdmi output) (needs  1    digital audio cable input)

I do not want to see your opinion on the xbox 360 and why I should pick a ps3, don't care. Keep the budget in mind if you are reccomending a system. Help is appreciated :s

Sorry forgot to add - My want for this is for gaming in my living room and I would like a surround sound experience which a sound bar can provide, but im still looking at things.

from what I've heard optical audio is a ripoff and HDMI is higher quality.

Problem slightly solved.
