Author Topic: Stunning discovery: Status effect "sleep deprivation" does in fact stack.  (Read 1099 times)

I haven't slept over the past two or three days besides an occasional nodding off for minutes at a time in between tasks due to a number of things that I've been working on (Job applications and all of that goodness, I'm sure you guys know how it can be). I've found that indeed, not only does the sleep deprivation last longer, it gets worse.
This struck me as a lot more surprising than you would think. What remedies are there for this ailment? Besides sleep, of course, since I probably won't be able to get any for a while anyway.

Get your headphones or earbuds and look up some ambient music, and just close your eyes. A lot of the time when I try to go to bed I listen to these things or watch like vsauce or something, and I feel like I've slept though I haven't. I just find ambient songs to be very relaxing and easy going on the stressful mind.

i always stay up until like 2:00 and then sleep, wake up at 8, and say "wow being tired is lame ill have ta get to sleep early tonight!!!" and then im tired all day and wake up when im suppost to go to bed, and repeat
its annoying

I can sympathize with this. I like sleeping so much, yet I hate that time spent sleeping could be used getting stuff done. Life can be pretty cruel.

I feel that'd be more likely to draw my attention away from tasks and put me to sleep. I've been listening to a lot of orchestral pieces and electronica though; Though aren't really helping my attention either at times, but at least they keep me up.

To clarify; I'm mostly looking for ways to eliminate the effects of sleep deprivation while getting things done. Getting back to sleep will really be as easy as closing my eyes in any position.

Yeah this is pretty much a reflection of myself lol. Except I gotta wake up at 5:30 AM :c

Benefits of being a drop-out: You make your own schedule forget yeeeaahhhhhh except not really because holy stuff all of these I need to do in place of an education.

Well sleep is pretty damn important. You've got to get some sleep, I know you've got things to do but you have to put your body before work. I'm no expert but what you could do is make a sort of playlist that goes from calm, to not so calm, to heavy, and repeating (music-wise). I'm not sure though, heh.

No, seriously, you NEED to sleep. You'll start hallucinating and eventually won't be able to sleep. Get some sleep right now.

at least the good thing is i don't have to go to school/work, so on most days i'm not forced to get up earlier than 8 :d

Soon, you could develop serious insomnia.

I hate sleep. I generally try to avoid it despite the effects on my internal clock. But when I do sleep I dream about some genius idea that I just so happen to forget every time I wake up.

I honestly wouldn't be surprised if I have already.
Also, unrelated, that avatar is a very good way of getting a message across; I may have to do something similar.

I've hit a point where I just don't seem to ever dream. The handful of times I do it's a nightmare and I just wake up thinking "brain why are you such an starfish jesus h christ."

Oh I guess that explains that, then. I have literally no idea how the heck that works, so yeah.

Dreams are rare for me as well. And I can't remember the last time I've ever had a nightmare/nightterror
