Author Topic: Anyone here own and use Microsoft Surface?  (Read 1557 times)

Only got to glance at it in BestBuy, but it seems to be a pretty solid alternative to the iPad or any Android tablet. Windows 8 RT works pretty nice, don't know how usable it is with day to day stuff.

Nonetheless, if I had the money to get a tablet, I'd get one of these.

My train home is full of ads for these. They seem like a rather neat thing. I've never been one to enjoy touch screen keyboards.

Windows RT is a joke
No different from iOS in relation to an app market and stuff. Don't know what else differs it from its Windows 8 regular counterpart.

Have any of you guys actually used it?
It's really neat if get used to the typing + commandd

Nothing can be worse than the quality of your avatar.

Millions of apps compared to the few on the Microsoft market.  The current surface runs on Windows RT which is a an ARM processor OS.  Genuine Windows 8 runs on an Intel or AMD processor and is 32, 64, or 86 bit.  What that means is that on a Genuine Windows 8 tablet (and there are a few, including the Surface Pro which is set to come out some time next year) you can run normal computer programs like Steam and etc, but on an ARM machine you are limited to the Microsoft store due to nobody having made any apps yet.

Windows 8 [I.E. Fisher-Price OS] Was made for tablets. They are just trying to force it on desktops because of how loving lazy they are. It's like a console RTS. It doesn't loving work.
