Author Topic: Why can't we access the fail bin?  (Read 2119 times)

So nobody asks why threads were put there

So nobody revives the stuff that was sent there

So that they don't have to clean up the links or references from every thread they remove

So we don't have to remind ourselves of the extent of how stupid we are

I think that the name "Fail Bin" pretty much explains why we can't.

I don't think it does.

A better question is why Ephiliates has tortured us so long by closing the RTB2 archive a few years ago.

Because it took up a lot of space, I'm guessing.

What Eksi said. Things like the stuffty cityrp addons need a place to permanently die.

why is it considered bad taste to rifle through garbage cans

why is it considered bad taste to rifle through garbage cans
Because then you get people who download these poorly made addons that ruin or break their game and then come here to complain that their game is broken

The purpose of the fail bin is to prevent people from having access to the add-ons within.  Allowing public access to it would defeat the purpose.  It would be like allowing banned users to post.

This subject is not open for debate or reform by plebiscite.

If people could access the fail bin they would activate the items that broke their game in the first place.

I don't disapprove of breaking your own game but please do not post it on the forum for thousands to unknowingly download.

I recall Eliptats saying the reason RTB2 archive was closed was so that stupid people no longer "port" add-ons from it by just posting them to the add-ons section.

still don't see why it'd be so bad if people could access it. it's not that hard to clear a link or whatever got the topic in the fail bin.
