Author Topic: Looking For a Good Computer  (Read 2977 times)

So my mother has agreed to get me a computer for Christmas.

The price can range from
300 - 500 Dollars

I would like a good amount of space with a great gaming rig.

Sadly she will not allow the building of a computer so i need pre-built or a customizable website thing.

I would like to have a really good nvidia card but it has to be affordable. I would also like a lot of ram and space.

Do you guys know any good computers out there with any of this? It would be greatly appreciated.

She'd gladly build it if we could get windows 7 for a good price, sadly we can't.

no why cant you get money from her for parts and you build it.

I'm thinking you will be hard pressed to get a good gaming computer for 500 dollars, and a good computer in that range will probably be one that you build yourself.
Plus it would probably be better to go for windows 8 now that that's out instead of windows 7, unless you have a strong thing against it.

She will build it, but we don't own a disk for windows 7. Apparently it's too expensive.

It's like +100$ to the computer i could build.

Other than the fact windows 8 has a forgetton of compatibility issues i'm fine with it.

tell her that prebuilts are worth less then the built computer with "expensive" windows 7.

I'd have my eyes peeled during black friday on sites like newegg and tigerdirect you might be able to pull off a usually $800 or so comp for that budget.

Also for $300-$500 a powerful nvidia card is going to not be an option you can prob get a comp that can play like source games fine at medium but don't expect much with that budget.

My mother understands computers just a little less than i do. She's just being bleugh about spending money.

Gonna check if anyone i know has a windows 7 disk.

300-500 dollars.

your asking for a miracle.

Well the two i posted that would need to be built will run Metro 2033 on high as well as skyrim on high and Borderlands 2 and GTA IV.

Ranging from 30-60 fps.

Which is like 100 times better than what i have right now.

Now i just need a copy of windows 7.

Can't i just rip win7 off this current cpu?
