My friend has a mac at the moment, and every time i find a game and get playing it he always as to try and find a mac version, it's amusing.

all the comps i've had are good in one part and bad in another
the last one i had which was a refurbished 2004 comp had 3 ghz processor, but 128mb integrated vram

this one has 256mb vram (not my choice), a dual-core 1.3ghz processor, but 500GB of storage

What OS are you running on that

What OS are you running on that
windows 7
why
my old one had XP

Also I'm not entirely sure about my vram but based on my fps in most games I think it's 256MB, but dxdiag reports ~2000MB
my RAM in both comps has been 4GB

Whats good about that at all?

the storage
considering my last comp had 80GB it was a big difference

I have a computer from 1984 and a computer originally sold with MS-DOS 2.1. Do I win?

It's an upgrade but 500gb hdds are super cheap

i have a 2009 compaq:
Hey cool, another compaq owner!

I have a 1987 compaq.

Processor: Texas Instruments 486
RAM: 3.7MB DRAM in dozens of DIPs (640k onboard, rest extended memory)
Graphics: 80x25 character onboard 9" greenscreen, graphics card with CGA and composite output
Hard Drive: 515MB hard drive
External Storage: 1 3.5" floppy drive, 1 5.25" floppy drive
Sound: PC Speaker
Operating System: MS-DOS 6.22

Suffice to say it is not my primary desktop. I spent a lot of time restoring it and basically it's awesome. I've got a plan to get it to connect to modern wifi networks.

I didn't think anyone would beat mine but you did. :(

Mine originally came with with DOS 3.1, was upgraded with 3MB of RAM and a new processor (original was a 286, which I still have) sometime in 1995. Does yours still work?

I did get some old game running on it just fine about half a year ago, so I'd say it does.

Of course with the specs of a Mac you'd probably not be able to game very well anyway. I don't even think it runs TF2 that well.

Windows Vista Home Prenium x64 Based PC
2GB RAM
ATI Radeon HD 2000 XT or something like that
250+ video memory

And worst of all, I'll never be free from 222GB of hard drive space :/

I'm researching for the best gaming laptop, I've heard Alienware are the worst despite how beastly they are.

Alienware computers are overpriced AC units.

Imo Compaq is one of the best computer brands. They always have a range of models so they are good for any budget, and the hardware to price ratio is easily found.

My first new computer was a Compaq Presario M2000 and man, I loved it. Played LAN games all the time, major nostalgia with that model. But sadly it started melting charger heads after I dropped it and the pin bent. :S

I currently own a Compaq Presario CQ62 (357TX model). I bought it in 2011, it was a late 2010 model. Has Intel i3-370M 2.40GHz and a 512MB dedicated Radeon HD Mobility 5470 in it and I pushed its RAM up to 4GB. Pretty swell for playing Steam games, even Garrys Mod does alright. I managed to play GTA IV on it too, at low res and 20 - 28 FPS or so. It plays Blockland really well, but stuffs out on shaders above low setting with high brick count.

Gonna sell it now, I don't want to though. :c  Gonna raise money for a gaming mini-itx, just need the CPU and RAM and I can build it. :D

I highly recommend Compaq as a brand.
