Author Topic: Anyone with bad PCs?  (Read 3495 times)

My toaster of a PC is what I've had for a few years now, and as I can't afford an upgrade, I'm forced to keep using it, which is driving me insane: Every new game I see - 'Dual/Quad core blah blah, Ati Radeon Hd blah blah blah, 3 GB ram blah blah, 1.5 GB video ram blah blah' - And I hate it. Because my PC has a poor old singlecore Sempron 3000+, Ati Radeon x550, 1.5 GB ram and 128 MB vram. :c

Anyone else like this?

I win:

32-160 MB RAM
AMD K6-2 400.0 MHz processor
100.0 MHz Front Side Bus
L2 cache - 256.0 KB - Pipeline Burst Cache
PCI - S3 ViRGE/MX - 2.0 MB SGRAM graphics processor

But it makes an epic stereo for some reason. It has nice big speakers.

what i have to use as a computer until christmas: a 5 year old macbook pro that overheats running more than 3 programs. and the laptop is basically about to snap in half.

It's much better then having absolutely not a single computer to use at all really.

*looks at new simcity*
Can't run.
*looks at starforge*
Nope.
*looks at newest prince of persia*

forget you.

i have a 2009 compaq:
amd sempron si-42 processor single core btw.
nvidia 9300m
3gb of ram that it cant use all the way.
decent speakers (by far Annoying Orangeed by my current laptops)
the ability to run flash games at ~10 FPS.
stuff build quality that somehow lasted 3 years. (it's still better then my dads 2 year old toshiba which is all flimsy cheap plastic)
i dealt with this for 2-3 years.
surprisingly good 1366x768 display.
fan does not spin due to dust, but it surprisingly did not overheat.

current laptop which is hopefully gonna last 3-4 years:
intel core i5-2450m
amd radeon hd 6650m
8gb of ram (originally came with 4 gb)
best laptop speakers i've ever used.
runs games good.
build quality is meh, still far better then my compaqs though.
1600x900 display.

My first laptop didn't seem to support OpenGL.

I winnn.

hopefully i get a new laptop

I have a potato with a single core processor and a usb jack

My current pc doesn't even deserve to be called a computer, it's more of a glorified calculator.
