Hep,lost steam account password.

Okay,the title says it all.I lost my account password.NOW BEFORE YOU TELL ME TO GO TO STEAMPOWERED.COM
I did,and i went and clicked on login.And then i clicked on forgot password.And it takes me to the steam support and says

"From the Steam Login dialog, click the Retrieve a lost account... button"
Where the forget is the "retrieve a lost account button"?Im also not logged in on the website,but i am logged in on the client.This is why i hate steam support.

I dont even have a clue what the password is.I made it years ago.I still have access to my account by client but i was thinking that if for some reason if i ever had to get a new computer or something,i wouldn't know what the password is.

click steam to open the program.click forgot password.follow instructions.

ok i have this problem too. you cant have steam open twice but its easy to fix:

1. type your user and pass
2. make sure username is correct
3. when it asks you for an key go to hotmail/gmail/yahoo
4. go to your inbox and you will see a steam support email. inside it is a key
5. hilight the key and press ctrl c (or copy it with the right click copy option)
6. copy the key in the key box
7. it should work

My faimly also has a laptop...could i do that method he did and will it work?

Im guessing that's on the steam client? Not website? Cause i was to nervous to log out on the client,cause that was the only way i could get access to my account.

yea but if you click the forgot password it just puts you on that bullstuff help page,dosent acully give you the "retrieve a lost account " button.I dident know they where revering to the client version
