Tap water can be a lot safer and better for you than bottled water or other waters, and its definitely better for the environment

I only drink spring water.

it will instantly kill you upon swallowing

avoid it at all costs

dihydrogen monoxide!
studies have proven that 100% of all the tap water in america is actually all dihydrogen monoxide

while it (usually) won't kill you (unless you're in a place where it might, like mexico or dominican republic etc etc), sometimes it just tastes bad. I filter my water because the tap water here is safe, but it tastes weird. also sometimes it's yellow. gross.

Drink it and you turn into a woman. I've seen it happen

If you like drinking chloride and other things the government puts in it then yeah.

Chloride. You mean chlorine? There is no chlorine in tap water.

in Uk it is.

i drink it all the time

You don't know what you're talking about.

Check with your city, if they still use old Lead or Clay pipes, then no, tap water leaches minerals from the pipes and dirt around them.
EDIT:
PVC or concrete coated steel pipes are fine.
