Author Topic: Is my secret folder secure enough?  (Read 2046 times)

First, There is an invisible folder on my desktop right here:

Then, Inside that folder you find this:

It contains a text document with "Leetspeak" That translates into
Rssfeed.gadget
Sidebar

Then if you figure that out it leads you here:

It has a text document names oobe With my birth year in it.

If you get that you are supposed to go to System32\oobe, You find this:

You will notice nothing out of the ordinary UNTIL you manually type in \1997 at the top:

You now found my folder.

Can i put my secret stuff in here? What methods do you guys use?

or you know..

you could just like..

..have a password protected folder

But you just told us
You could also encrypt a .zip folder or something and change the extension

Nope
we know how to get in now

or you know..

you could just like..

..have a password protected folder

Thats not good enough, My mom would force the pass out of me with threats of punishment, But with this, i could tell her it is an important document i have to change around with a game.

Also, You guys arent the ones who are able to get in and use my PC.

Am I the only one old enough to have their own computer and not have to worry about hiding their research or history?

Then have a single image embedded with a zip archive that you have to open with WinRar manually.
Also, you know the location anyway, no need for a little puzzle. :/

yes
oh how i envy you people

yes

You shouldn't. I'm a second class citizen with bills out my butt and no job. Being an adult is crappy.

I don't want a research folder, because I am sort of loveually averted.

If I stockpiled a research folder, then I would buy 2 USB thumb drives. One is a 4GB, the other is a 8GB. I'd swap the 4GB one's case with the 8GB one's case. I'd split the 8GB partition into two 4GB partitions, and make the second one hidden. The hidden one would be a research folder.

The above method would probably be hard, though.

so what you do is you fill it with fake crap like plans to surprise her with flowers and drafts of mother's day cards about how much you love her and stuff

then when she forces the password out of you, she'll feel horrible and let you do it from that point onwards

Get WinRAR
Password a .zip file
Change the name to like bnuZJk or something
Change the extension to .dll or .wav or whatever
Put in a system folder

Not secure enough. The computer needs to be locked in an underground vault with a 56390788 digit code on Pluto.

Get WinRAR
Password a .zip file
Change the name to like bnuZJk or something
Change the extension to .dll or .wav or whatever
Put in a system folder

yeah but then you have to find, rename, enter a password, and extract the folder every time you want to view it
try this https://code.google.com/p/lock-a-folder/

it would be hard once then never again
