Author Topic: How do you make a Dedi-Server in V21?  (Read 1976 times)

I want to know how to make a dedicated server in V.21... For instance: It would be on me and a friends "Town" map, and I would... Uh... Just tell me how to start a dedi-server, and if I can just pop in and edit stuff, etc. Thanks!

When you download it gives you the option of putting a dedicated server shortcut on your desktop.

Or try this

Go to your Blockland shortcut on your desktop

Right Click

Press Properties

where it says "Target : "C:\Program Files (x86)\Blockland\BlocklandLauncher.exe" "

make it say this in the Target field

"C:\Program Files (x86)\Blockland\BlocklandLauncher.exe" -dedicated

then press apply

Ok

and then there you go

Dedicated server

NOEDIT

If you're wondering how to just start one.

Double click the icon and it'll start. Then join it and do stuff from there.

If you want certain add-ons enabled / disabled.

Start a none dedicated server with the addons you want enabled / disabled. and then start your dedicated server

Thanks! Locking.
Wait, do I have to keep it up? Or does it just exist after I make it?

And it loaded tons upon tons of stuff, but after "Posting to rtb" it stopped... How do I play with it!?

Once you get to that point, open a normal Blockland game and join it.

When you close the window, the server is gone.
It should say "Dedicated server is now running."
At that point, minimize the window and start up blockland to join it

Well that loving sucks, why the hell would I want to do that!?

The point is just that. It runs independently from the game so you don't have to keep a full Blockland running.

I don't want to keep my PC on permanently!

Quick question myself, if you, say, close the laptop, will the server keep running, or will it stop?

it depends on the laptop settings, theres a setting somewhere that makes your laptop sleep when you close it, so you would have to turn that off

That's what hosting services exist for.
