Author Topic: What will happen to RTB?  (Read 1200 times)

I know that Blockland has been on greenlight for a long time, but this just occured to me:

The RTB uses shift + tab to open it up, but steam also uses shift + tab.

What will happen if it comes out on steam and we try to open up RTB?

Opens both?
I don't think that would work. A solution might be to defautly rebind RTB?

You could just rebind the RTB thing.

I have another point though: What would be the point of RTB if you can open steam to nearly the exact same thing?

ctrl+tab

some people don't have steam

you also can download quality add-ons on RTB

First of all, steam will not be nessicary to run the game, so you don't have to register it on steam if you don't want to. Secondly, if you do register it on steam, you can just Rebind the key to open RTB in Options -> Controls, mine is set to Left alt, so this isn't a problem for me at all.

Overall, this isn't an issue, and doesn't deserve a help topic because it is easy to remedy.

tl;dr= Rebind the "open RTB" key in Options ->Controls

Actually RTB does a few things that Steam doesn't. One, it makes Downloading and managing addons FAR easier (unless badspot gets a slot for Blockland on steam workshop, which i doubt will happen). Two, it allows you to easliy manage server settings, addon settings (not the same as management), and Admin settings. Three, the ability to chat with everyone in blockland at once (Yes, i know steam has chat, but steam doesn't have chatrooms, where you can chat with any steam user, regardless if they are a friend or not.)

I use Ctrl + Shift + Tab for Steam. So it doesn't interfere with my non-Steam copy of BL, because I rarely play it on Steam. (As a non-Steam game.)

Why does no one get this.
Blockland is not going to add steam support.
STEAM IS JUST AN ADDITIONAL WAY OF BUYING THE GAME!!

Many people will still launch it through steam.

i won't

steam hogs enough CPU as it is, combine that with Blockland (which also uses a large chunk of CPU), and you have a recipe for anything from severe lag to PC crashes
