Author Topic: My shadows won't work on my MacBook Pro (go figures)  (Read 1117 times)

So I can run my shaders on Min. with great preformance but once I go any higher, like Max, I get this crap.

It's all, liney and screwed up and it does this everywhere and i dunno how to fix it, any way?
Yes, I'm on a Macbook Pro, so if it's just a "Oh you're on a mac that stuff won't work" then go ahead.

Pretty sure the problem lies in the apple-distributed driver for your video card.

Noedit: Try and get the latest driver from the website of the GPU manufacturer?

Dual-boot a copy of Windows 7. I've said this before, but GLSL, the Blockland team, and Macs don't go together well.

I'm really sorry but this is the only easy way out.

I'm on a school issued computer so I can't do big things like get a different Operating system.
I figured there was some easy script fixes or file switches for it to work, guess I was wrong.

bump in case there's someone who knows how to fix this still.

Are you using Intel HD graphics (which I doubt) or the AMD/Nvidia graphics? If you're using the AMD/Nvidia try upgrading drivers like some people she said. Also try going into options in advanced and select other Shader types, I don't remember wha they are called but they start off with the word Post or Pre or somethig.

This won't help.

Just my luck, loving Mac.

your mac isn't your problem, it's just your card.

Well, granted that I just so happen to have the card on this computer irritates me, but I guess whatever.
At least it's a common problem, and could be fixed sometime in the future(?)

No, its a problem with the card, not blockland.
Badspot would of fixed it already if he could, intel cards are not strong at all.

Define their strength, because it seems that everything else majority runs well on my Mac, TF2 is a bit of a pain but for the most part runs fine, I'm pondering how just shaders is an issue.

Intel cards are not really gaming cards.
Intel is usually in school computers, because you really only want Intel for a work/school computer.
