This is a joke:

This is not:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Women's_rights
You're right, Women's rights is not a joke.
But "Women's rights is a joke" is a joke.

I don't think it looks like one of the twin towers.
Squint your eyes a little.

A coincidence? I think not.

It's definitely not one of the twin towers, since the dimensions are wrong.

It looks like it's a screenshot of a build.

The probably isn't the hatred, it's the lightheartedness of serious issues.
The lightheartedness doesn't demean them in any way shape or form.

100 years of women's suffrage doesn't suddenly go out the window because someone finds a video about the differences between the lovees to be funny.
I don't see how liking the video in the other topic at all means that you don't agree with women's rights.

I want women to be as equal as men in all social, economic and religious regards, and more.

But ultimately men and women are different.
If I ignore that fact then it's stupid. I might as well be saying that men and women are identical. Which many people would find very rude to suggest that all people are identical and are not unique. And gender is one part (a big part) of each persons uniqueness.

If I acknowledge the fact that men and women are different and I use that as a means to lead a full on attack on one of the lovees and fully demean them, then that is wrong.

If I acknowledge the fact that men and women are different, and I appreciate and am fine to joke about it, then no one gets hurt. Just because I can joke about common traits between men and women it doesn't mean I'm going to develop the view that women should have no say in society.

The video in question itself actually focusses both ways on the lovees in the joke it takes. And when it does so it doesn't make the point out to be that either of the lovees is at fault or that they are stupid.
It makes a joke about the fact that some people don't understand what their specific opposite-love partners mean when they express themselves.
And yes, they make a generalisation in this. Because the medium and basis of the joke depends upon it.
It's pretending to be an advert.
It can't go "Here, buy the Manslater, designed to explain what my partner Cynthia and myself, Tom, say".
You wouldn't get that in a real advert.
You would notice that Cynthia and her fellow females with the same problem are women, and that Tom and his fellow males with the same problem are all men. So you highlight the key difference between them. Chances are that other people in relationships between a male and a female might have experience in a situation like this, or they might be aware of the concept, in which case they might find this video a humorous concept of how one might theoretically fix such a social scenario.

Unfortunately it seems to me, Maya, that you are very much nit-picking upon things.
For example, in your topic about Electrk you scour through his previous posts to find any images which might, if taken in a serious context, to be insulting to someone else.
His comment on adoption, which you happen to proclaim to be an example of his lack of apathy, is a joke based on the obviously fake "conspiracy" about the identity of Eric Hartmann, the creator of Blockland. In that example he doesn't at all insult anyone who is adopted or who has to make the decision to put a child up for adoption. That isn't even his aim. His aim is to be humorous in a forum of like-minded individuals who are all making similar jokes about an obscure topic related to this very Forum and the game it represents.
Despite all this, and despite this being obviously clear had you taken even a couple of seconds to look into the topic at hand, you decide to use it as a means to discredit Electrk for the sake of discrediting him.

Your obviously unnecessary over-concern with being politically correct is infact exceedingly annoying and completely unwarranted on an internet forum filled with teenagers who are happy to jokingly, and that is the key word, make humorous comments about many topics, regardless of whether someone else in the real world might be experiencing that topic.
The thing is however, that most members of this forum don't truly believe what they joke.
When I say "It takes 10 doctors to change a lightbulb, 9 to take notes and 1 to call a nurse to do it", I don't actually believe that is how the real world operates.

In my time on these forums I have seen countless topics on a myriad of different subjects. From those concerning entirely random things, to those which mock certain scenarios within life (including adoption, tranloveuality, death, cancer and many other things), and those where members actively share their own personal life and what is happening with them. Which includes those going through depression, teen pregnancy, death of loved ones, diseases, loveual identity problems and more.
And the people who make jokes in topics on serious things are also the same people who walk into the topics where members share the sadness and troubles in their life, and they then actively give their heart-felt condolences and support.

You have taken a single snapshot of this forum, and the people in these topics, where they might make fun on a serious subject (and in this case the joke isn't even on said subject) and you instantly take it to mean that we're all cruel-hearted individuals, and that you'll fight our actions for the sake of the people we insult.
We insult ourselves in these topics, and we know it.
And it's a very human thing. To be able to look at ourselves, and the things going on in our world, and to take a moment and laught.

Would you rather we were all emotionless machines that did nothing and never said boo to a goose lest we dare offend someone who might never be looking?
Might I say that it is my right as a human being to insult others and to be insulted, just as it is every other members right here to insult me and eachother and be insulted themselves. If we break the forum rules then we pay the price, if we don't then we're fine. This isn't a place of Big Brother where our every word is recorded to ensure we don't upset anyone.

If you're an alternate account and you're trolling then you should be banned.
If you're not, and you're here speaking seriously, then you should very much reconsider your presence here.
Your opinions are wrongly placed in these topics and the overwhelming consensus seems to be that you are a nuisance who sadly does not fit in here.
Your self-proclaimed offense on anything even mildly insulting will not go down well in public opinion here and it isn't necesarry.
Many others would claim otherwise, but I would say that many members on these forums have a good sense of intelligence to atleast some degree. And we're all capable of knowing when we are making a joke. We might not mean to cause offence by it, but if you happen to be offended then that is seemingly your fault. It's not our concern and it's not your right to shove it down our throats and play the sympathy card, particularly in a topic such as the Manslater one, where offence isn't even a possible side-effect to anyone rational.

Well, I'm ranting and raving and my points are spewed about, but I've been watching this, the Manslater and Electrk topic for a number of hours now and have only just had a chance to write what little I can even recall wanting to say.
-snip-
This man made very good points which I would also include, if I wasn't quite so tired.

Any questions you have on where I should clarify myself then feel free to ask.

jesus christ dooble that's a lotta words

Squint your eyes a little.

A coincidence? I think not.

It's not, it's actually a lego build of 30's Seattle put through a black and white filter so people would think it's real.

Also, the ability to take things lightly and laugh at problems helps you get over a lot of things. In no way does it lessen the severity of the problem at hand, if anything it helps you understand it and see how ridiculous, for example; loveism, the problem actually is.

I also completely agree with Dooble, Maya is just splitting hairs and only looking at one side of things so she can complain. If anything, her own actions are lessening the actual issue at hand.

jesus christ dooble that's a lotta words
I'd paraphrase it but I don't even know where to begin.

Definitely missed a bunch of what I wanted to say, since I was thinking up different things everytime I clicked a new page on all 3 topics.

It's definitely not one of the twin towers, since the dimensions are wrong.

It looks like it's a screenshot of a build.
It was a joke.

How is Self Delete:

a joke?

Self Delete isn't a joke.

Blimey. Hopefully they'll re-consider their approach to this forum before they re-join.
Being argumentative for the sake of being argumentative isn't a good plan.

I'm slightly disappointed that she was unable to respond to either of our comments.

I wouldn't be surprised if the person actually is an alternate account themselves.
