This is a very interesting project.
The whole bounty system when you kill someone is clever, i thought of this as well when thinking of how to fix freekilling in more serious kind of games.
However, how does this bounty system tie in the rest of the story?
Who gives the bounties, how do people get to know the bounties?
Magically get money from an unknown resource is okay to see if it works, but you might want to think of something to make it somewhat more logically/tie in with the rest of the story.
While it might be difficult to think of a good way to tie it in with the rest, it will feel better and add more feeling to this all.
The bounty system is very interesting, once again, but i would like to see a well designed system around it to give it some more sense.

Is there something so that people who died from something that didn't destroy either the whole body or just the head will turn into a zombie?
Not trying to replicate the original is one thing, but taking inspiration from it/using the concept of it is another.
I would like to see something like that too.

P.S. The build looks very good and made me think back of the game of the Walking Dead.
Which is a good thing IMO.
