Norton or Avast!

AVG and Avast are my preferred ones, though I only use Avast.
I also have Malwarebytes for scans.

Malwarebytes and Avast are what I use. The only problem I have with Avast is when it terminates programs that I'm running and know are safe, forcing me to set an exception rule.

That's not the point, It's much better if he tries to form his own opinion for himself instead of relying on our opinions for everything, If he does that he will never be able to decide for himself and would most likely end up joining in on whatever antivirus he was convinced was better.


Anyway, I would use superantispyware and comodo antivirus, Although that's just my opinion.

Maybe it's an okay program if you have the common sense to stay away from suspicious sites and people, but if you're an idiot that just can't stay away from a free iPad or the chance to meet a single girl in your area:

i made a stub of a free, uncrypted rat and put it on my computer with nothing but norton running. it's one of the most used rats ever.

Virus protection is absolutely absurd.

I have had many computers, my current one I've had around 3 years, never a DAY it had an antivirus on it, and it runs as fast as the day I bought it.
My grandparents computer, has Norton, it's hardware is actually BETTER than this one, and NEWER, yet it runs around 30 times slower, and that isn't an exageration.

As long as you don't go to shady sites and download stupid stuff, or have a family based computer, using antivirus is stupid.
However you're Elecro, so telling you to be smart is like telling a dog it's a cat, so go with Avast!
