Author Topic: Yay i can play shaders  (Read 1710 times)

well, not really

Happy Holidays

taken on my new computer. lagged like crap though. (Should it lag with low shaders and 4gb of ram?)

The quality is too bad for a wallpaper so I wouldn't recommend it. (forgot to change to png)

This is my first time ever being able to play with shaders on (For the info)

Its not only the memory but its mostly the graphics card. What kind do you have?

To check click start > run > type dxdiag.exe > Go to Display > Tell me the name

It is one of the newer series of AMD's line but maybe because it is a laptop the performance isnt as good. Have you upgraded your drivers to the newest version? AMD is notorious for having bad drivers. http://support.amd.com/us/Pages/AMDSupportHub.aspx

you've got some low-end integrated stuff, of course it's not going to perform well.

Unfortunately, yes. I have 4gb of ram and an Nvidia gt 240, and I can just barley run max smoothly, and only sometimes. Not on populated servers or ones with high brick counts

I can run between high and ultra at around 20 fps with about 2k bricks.
...on an integrated graphics card. Stupid opengl not working with my discrete card.

It's not specifically my computer.

You didn't have to be a huge loving richard about it.

Same thing

God dammit I can't just afford nice gaming computers. I never had a computer to my own anyways. It's probably the number one thing I need in my life. I'm not poor, it's just that I don't wipe my ass with cash like most people here.

It's not that big of a deal. One computer with 4g of ram is pretty good in my standards. Over time upgrade the graphics card and some other things and it should be fine. Be thankful for the computer you have, there's a lot of people in my town who don't even own computers, let alone a good gaming computer.

It's a laptop, he'd be lucky if he can upgrade anything beyond the RAM or Hard Drive.

Trogtor, maybe next time you should look into building a desktop instead? Laptops are significantly more pricey than desktops, plus you can save by building it. How much did you spend on this laptop?

My parents don't understand quality over price when it comes to technology

Then instead of letting them buy it for you, say "I'd like to save up my own mony to contribute to a better but more expensive computer."

not my computer

sorry, I should really be more specific.

like really really more specific
i've never owned my own computer.

I just wanted to know why it's slow because I thought 4gb of ram is a lot to make my blockland run smoothly.

I can't even get on the computer anymore, it's my moms and I don't think she wants me playing games, even through my flashdrive.
