Author Topic: Will this adapter work for my monitor?  (Read 641 times)

I have an ASUS tf300t tablet and I wanted to use its micro HDMI out to DVI-D on my AOC e2243Fwk monitor.  I wanted to be sure both are compatible with a nice resolution.

Cable I found:

Monitor specs:

Let me know if you guys think it'll work effectively, or if I should just go with a micro HDMI to VGA cable and suffer with a 4:3 resolution.

I know that HDMI to VGA requires a cable AND some kind of additional box that is sold separately, that splits the signal or something like that. Probably the same for micro HDMI, not sure.

Also it won't support sound.

I'm not primarily worried about sound, I have that covered via 3.5 mm out to double female barrel adapter taking it to RCA red and white into external speakers and or just using bluetooth sound I have rigged up to a 2nd set of speakers.

You can go from hdmi to dvi with just a small adapater, I don't think you need an active adapter since both signals are digital

Ah of course, you are totally right-- silly me. Its just the VGA because its brown townogue?

I imagine so, though to to go from dvi or hdmi to display port you need an active adapter.
