Author Topic: My Terraria forums experience. (Post your own experiences with forum idiots)  (Read 1565 times)

As explained in the title, there are some people who are just so smart, intellegent and helpful! You should strive to be like them. idiots.

So basically on the Terraria forums I asked a simple question; "Can I have some good reasons to buy Terraria?" I then told them I did not want answers like "It's only $10," and "Over One Million Copies have been sold." Only one person gave me a good answer, the rest was people giving me answers the complete opposite of what I explained in the OP, then the thread practically died. Examples of the stuffty responses/the only other responses besides the good one:

Because its the greatest game ever made. With that attitude I would prefer you not buy it. Last thing we need is another user crying about hardmode or lack of updates.

Why not?

Anyone else have similar experiences? Obviously not just with Terraria forums, but anywhere.

The game is good because of how large it is. You can probably adventure for hours killing the bosses and getting the best weapons and making everything happy and magical with unicorns, or you know, letting the corruption devour the planet and spend endless hours stabbing away at huge bugs and worms.

The exact same stupid comments come up here when people ask why should they purchase Blockland.

They would've had to buy it to post here, but I can see it happening in-game.
Link to thread, please?
Not sure if I can. Aren't you not supposed to link to other forums?

usually when someone is actively part of a game's community they're bound to be unhelpful asskissers

Prior to the Auth-Key required posting we used to get topics in General Discussion with people asking why they should buy Blockland.

The same stuff was always said.
"Because you should", "Because it's only $20", "Why shouldn't you", "I don't think you deserve to buy it", etc...
There would be a few posts on what was good about it, but most of it was people either posting stupid things or saying that there's no point asking on the forums of the game you're interested in, because you're only going to get biased views.

I'm sure it happens on all forums related to games.

roblox forums are 100% off topic:

i ned a gf any1 wana help?

i got a knew doge

hay sdo i got dis bublle on my face an it wnot go away

Uub

Is that why some accounts have -1 as their bl_id?

Yeah, that makes sense. Not sure why everyone has to do it though, it's inconsiderate and annoying.
Anyways, I guess let's just

post about similar experiences
or something.

Link to Topic in OP now, in case you didn't see it.

Honestly, I don't see why you'd turn to a biased forum for help buying the game. You could learn 10x more in the same amount of time by watching youtube videos, watching Terraria's trailers, and looking at the wiki/features list.

I'm sure that $10 is pretty hard for you to earn considering how cautious you are with spending it on something, so if you plan on playing single player, don't buy it. It will get boring very quickly unless you have friends to play it with (even 1). Try not to skip weapon/armor tiers as that diminishes playtime, and don't just go balls deep and fight every boss as fast as possible. You will ruin the game in 5 hours. That said,

I wanted to ask people who have most likely played the game what features of the game made it good. Admittedly, it was probably a bad idea. I'm not really sure if I could find friends to buy it on their computer, though I could try. They will probably want to wait for the console version or something.

Yeah, I think if you create an account but haven't attatched an Auth Key to it (so you can't post anywhere) then the ID on your profile will appear to be -1.

So if you ever look back at old topics you'll probably find old members who used to be very active might not have an ID attatched if they left before the Auth Key linking came in.
