The SAT's are dumb
mainly because I've been forced into a SAT Prep class because of test scores

I think they missed the part where I got a loving F in a PSAT class the year before.

That's probably what will happen to me. I kick ass in the Math section but blow in reading comp and writing :/ What is the best method for preparing for those sections?
READ! Take challenging English classes, learn to read faster, develop a higher level of vocabulary. That's really all there is to it.

The SAT doesn't actually test anything useful, only your ability to learn the tricks of the test and the language and format of the test, but not the content of the test. You can't have a proficiency test whereon tricks are necessary to score well.
You didn't say, "The SAT is bogging down the educational system". You said tests.

Fair enough, I'll agree to that.

What I said above could be a general criticism of school/high-stakes testing in the US, but the SAT is still a part of the problem.
