yes, this is what i'm kind of pissed at
the fact that the wrong tools are being given to the wrong people. sure people here don't mind having Roblox's system now but i guarantee you they would be satisfied if we had it from the start
Just in my own opinion, I don't like the idea of highly modifiable shapes and blocks in these types of games.
- For Blockland, add-ons for more blocks (triangles, spheres, props, etc.) are what I feel a bit detrimental towards the ultimate purpose of this game. I can imagine in the future there will be 'blocks' that are actually entire houses; the game will be about placing these 'blocks' in different combinations across a map, much like the current state of Roblox.
- For Roblox, the presentation is just too lackluster. It feels shabby and alpha-oriented, which further discourages new players from adapting to this style of gameplay; the 'free models' section is much more appealing in most cases to them. Plus, the addition of meshes, models and animations just deprives the game of the charm it used to have. Builds don't have a sense of accomplishment, because you basically expanded a brick 5 times to make an enclosed space you call an 'office.'
