I am not sure how to reply to that. If people are offended by my jokes that is their problem. If people are offended by text they are reading on an internet forum, that is their problem and it's sad. Maybe people who can't handle the real world (like you) shouldn't be exposed to the internet.

Being offended by something is the stupidest, most worthless, irrational thing someone can do. You won't ever find me being offended, someone might say something I find ignorant or pitiful but I won't take any personal offense to something as silly as words. Being offended is a personal problem you need to deal with you can't expect others to fix you or tip-toe around you especially when they don't even know you.

1) "Terrible" is subjective.
2) On the internet, there are no real world implications. They can't punch you. They can't in any way effect your life.

Making light of something dark is a way to make ease the pain of terrible things in the world. Being offended by that means that "Easing the Pain of others makes you unhappy". Now, if we get rid of "easing" and "un" which cancel out, then that means that the "Pain of others makes you happy", which is sadism.
