A police officer can still arrest people at a party without a warrant. I know because we've had police show up at our door more than once because of the music being to loud.

You know you have loud music when the police officer says "I can hear it a mile down the road"

Also never say "Shoot them" when you hear someone knock on the door, my uncle yelled that when a cop showed up on New Years and luckily the cop knew it was a joke and didn't take any threat into it.

as in if they look into the window and see a beer can

or kids being trashed outside your house

or anything of that nature
also, remember that neighbors are not your friends; they are your enemies.  they'll be the ones calling the cops.

best advice I can give you:
control the music
close all the windows, blinds, shades, and curtains
have everyone use Solo Cups
don't let anyone hang out outside the house/gate/whatever
have the party in the basement if room will allow
