How do I make environmental water?

I edit things in the GUI but water will not appear. Everything else works.
What am I doing wrong? What tiny detail that changes everything did I miss?

Go to the "Simple" Tab. There you will see a water icon what says "NONE"

 Choose a water texture. I picked that one (It is a custom one).

After that, go to "Advanced" Tab. Scroll down, there should be this water height level. Use it to adjust how high you want the water to be.

I think you have missed to put the actual water in the "Simple" Tab. If you try adjusting the height in advanced without the water put on in the simple tab, it might not work.

Yeah, I apparently forgot the Simple tab. Thanks

For some reason I just assumed that you wouldn't have to switch back and forth between options if you went straight to advanced in the first place. Oh well.
