Author Topic: Does the NVIDIA GeForce GT 620 graphics card 1GB support BL's version of shaders  (Read 3552 times)

Yeah, pretty technical question...

I'm getting a new desktop for my birthday, and I was wondering if the NVIDIA GeForce GT 620 graphics card 1GB (mouthful) can support shadows and shaders. And if so, at what setting?

Looks like it.

Do you have it? What settings can it run on?

no i dont i read the open gl is 4.1

that gpu is pretty cheap looking, i think you should invest in a better one.

low at best
i seriously don't recommend this if you really want to run shaders

Running 560 here.
I'm doing fine.

Any dedicated video that's even remotely modern could run them

I can't find the 620 on either of the benchmark sites I use so I can't really compare it to other cards to find something that may be better for around the same price

medium at best.

at LEAST upgrade to a 9800gt you can run 1440x900 max with some lag with that piece of old graphics hardware.

and it's also cheaper.

They are the same GPU, just different card brands. I have had a good experience with Sapphire cards, you could go with that one if you want. The Radeon 7750 seems like it should be find at handling moderate shadows.

Um, my NVIDIA GeForce GT 540M runs shaders fine...

Yeah I know, it's a little less powerful than the NVIDIA GeForce GT 620.
