Author Topic: Does the NVIDIA GeForce GT 620 graphics card 1GB support BL's version of shaders  (Read 3532 times)

Hey if you have a GTX 660TI, could you tell me how many FPS you get when loading up ACM City and looking at all of the bricks? I am just wondering because I have an AMD 7950 and the two cards compete relatively close.

How do I check for all of this?

On the upper left of that picture there is a grey box with a silver/white label on it.  That's your power supply.  On that label there should be the power supply stats.

I have a geforce gtx 660 not the ti tho, i get around 200fps maybe 180.

Well, I have my new computer and I'm running shaders. The setting's on max and there is a below-average FPS. However it's something I can live with for a while.

I'm actually not going to buy another graphics card. My cousin told me that you can update your card's drivers so that it can run shaders better.

Driver updates are usually just bug fixes I believe, I think you'd rarely get any noticeable performance increase

I don't think so, my cousin told me that downloading driver updates increases the graphics card's ability of reading shaders. To me that would mean a faster FPS rate.

It doesn't.

lol if that was true i would still be using a ATI rage

It does but its usually a 5-10fps increase. The 12.10 drivers from AMD are ass and when compared to the 12.11 beta drivers from AMD, people got around a 10% increase in FPS in Far Cry 3, but for Blockland It may not do anything, some of the drivers like Nvidias give not only bug fixes but improvements in FPS, so your bro is right but Nvidia usually works on a specific games to give better FPS increase, I doubt they did any for BL.

If your power supply can support a GTX 660 you probably have around a 400-450w power supply. Your PC might support a GTX 660ti or the 7950. If you have a GTX 660 I don't really think it would be worth the money to upgrade now.

When I upgraded my 550ti to a 7950 I only noticed like a 20-30fps increase and I still lag at times with shaders which Annoys me.

Oh wait I mixed up the wrong people in my above post, I thought OP had a 660TI.

Wait so, Max Shaders, looking at the whole ACM City map and 180-200fps?
