It RUINED

I repeat

RUINED

my old computer.

It says you have a virus but you don't, and then you try to fix it, and then it activates its payload

well i was seven when it happened

i thought viruses were just like "oh this program wont work oh noo!" until
that

time...

This is why I disabled all security on my computer. Haven't had any problem since.

I outsmarted the program the first time it happened to me. It was the most convincing one that I ever saw, too.

Good forgetin luck with that.
Open Internet Explorer once and you'll die.

I guess you could fix it like this.
Boot up safe mode
Download Malwarebytes Anti-Malware
Run Malwarebytes
Delete the worms/virus/malware
Uninstall Defender Pro
Done?

Thread is now about first virus fear and nostalgia

man I sure loved shooting those 3 ducks to win.

Sounds like you downloaded the spoof version. Restart your computer in safemode and download malewarebytes and run a full scan.

I remember the time there was a single Russian woman in my area.

I remember the first time i had a fake anti-virus virus, i was something like 8, and i didn't loving know about the "Copy Image URL" or anything like that, so I saved and downloaded all images that i posted on this forum 'then, and I was saving this portal photo of cartoon chell hugging a companion cube, and this fake anti-virus showed up showing thousands of trojans and trojan horses, so, being the idiotic kid i was, I did something, I guess I hit the "Remove viruses" button two times I think, the first time I saw a window pop-up for a second saying stuff like "Installing /somestuffhere/stuffhere/something.exe" I thought there was something wrong with it, so I hit the "remove viruses or whatever" button again, and the same window popped up, then after a while the laptop just forgeted itself and crashed, it's working again, and virus-free.

Microsoft Security Essentials + Windows 8 = Happy Tetrahedron
