It gets a bit thicker near the center.

Doesn't mention and disk drive in the tech specs
I'm assuming that you would have to buy an external one

They reduced some features to fit it all in

it will use up the same amount of space as the stand is the same size, no reason to be "thinner"

best buy may be able to, i saw a gaming computer with intel core i5, 4gb RAM, 256 gb SDD storage and an integrated GPU going for 1500 dollars.
