On Glass's server, I got to 75 points only using the starting handgun in about 20 minutes. I don't see the problem. It's not the weapons, it's the players. If you can't get any kills with the starting handgun, which is amazing, then you are just bad at the game.

After buying a couple weapons, a few people started complaining that the game wasn't fair because they start with such a crappy weapon and they have to fight against players with purchased weapons. I told them that the gun you start with is great and that they shouldn't be having any problem getting a good amount of points. They told me I was stupid and that the weapon sucks, so I cleared my inventory and grabbed the starting pistol. Only using the pistol, I got a 8-kill streak followed by a 9-killstreak which gave me about 25-30 points (kill streaks give you more points (I think)). It only took me about 8 minutes.

Explain to me how the buying weapons part of his server is biased at all.

Also, the capture points are important, that's how I got my 75 points that quickly.

Bushido, I've used T+T in all of my TDMs, and they were fantastic, but that was because all the TDMs were more modern.  I'm moving in to older stuff, so maybe it would do you and the community good to make some era-based weaponry.
Yes. We need WWI and WWII-type weapons. This would be nice.

With your logic of 'the starting handgun is amazing if you're good,' then that's biased against players that aren't good. The point of the server is to have fun blasting your comrades into tiny plastic bits, not being constantly beaten down by others. Being 'bad' at the game shouldn't limit how much fun you receive out of it.

So it's skill, not the weapons? Like I said...?

Find a DM where all the players have an equal amount of skill. You can't. Every single DM will have players that get a lot of kills and players that get a lot of deaths. Not everyone is going to have fun at a DM server because of this. Some players just aren't that good.

Being 'bad' at the game shouldn't limit how much fun you receive out of it.
Nothing limits how much fun you receive from doing something. Some people have lots of fun even though they die a lot and get very few kills and some people don't have any fun even though they get tons of kills and hardly die.

every weapon pack nowadays is generic, bland, and uninspired
"this maganum is shoot bullet they strong"
"this smig shoot a lot of bullets but is weak"
"this shotgnu is powerful up close"

What else do you want them to do, fire rainbows and sprinkles?

What the heck.

Every single stuffty godforsaken fps game is made to give the advantage to the person who actually have skills. It's not supposed to be some kind of Russian roulette where the most lucky one kills the other. By your logic, a TDM is unbalanced even when both teams got the same stuffty guns because one of the teams got better players and just play the game far more better than the pussies in the other team. Why not make a rant about that instead, how some people are richards because they are better at the game.

You can't just make a server where everyone have the same capability, as some people will suck and always will suck (whatever the server's purpose is) and there's no real point in trying to make the server satisfactory for them too. You can't just "oh yeah it's your turn to kill me this round, here you go". Equality do not exist in a TDM.

And of course, all this depends on the person. If you are a whiny whore or a merry guy. Some people can still enjoy the game even though they are inferior. Like me.

I know the sport rifle is like the magnum but the magnums bullet particle just seems so much more satisfying and strong.

I agree. There is nothing wrong with the weapons. There is also nothing wrong with the buying weapons system.

As for the capture points, they are there to help speed up the point-gaining system. You get 8 points per capture point you take. They do become points of interest when people figure out that they are actually worth capturing. Maybe Glass should add some information about how much you get from capturing points or flags.

OP forgot to mention the tf2 inspired class and map garbage

Any point-based weaponry/classes in a TDM makes the TDM suck (Glass's, Pecon7's, Zay's)

What

But it's a TF2 server there are supposed to be classes, and the server can't be that bad.
Also you don't need points to win, you simply get points, but it's straight forward gameplay.

I want some good quake-like deathmatches! In fact, I might start one now. Default bricks and everything.

Points should buy extras, not essentials. You know, stuff like health packs and  extra grenades.

TDMs you described, Knife TDMs, and Jail RPs are all super stuffty servers that everyone loves for no reason.

I always try to build original minigames but nobody gives backing so they never get finished.  I know this is putting all the blame on other people for me not finishing, but jeez.  When I'm hosting a group effort build to create a minigame that doesn't suck and nobody helps, it's really uninspiring and hard to complete a build.
