Yes, it was sick. I would stay away from the 48fps version though. It was a little odd looking at some points

Tails is right, it's normally at 24.  The 48 was pretty nice in heavy cgi scenes with little live action going on.  But if it was them on some scenery outside it had this weird look to it.  Also I don't know if it was just but me but my dad agreed that the film had this weird lag like thing going on with lots of movement in a live action scene.  The movie was really really good besides that.

If you've ever watched an interview with Peter Jackson he said that he was going for a whimsical story with The Hobbit, and it really is a lot different from LOTR.  There are a lot of jokes and it overall seems less serious, even the main bad guys in this film are making jokes and nowhere near as menacing as in LOTR.  Towards the end it starts to get more serious and the next film is definitely going to be a good one too.

OH JEEZ IT COMES OUT TODAY

I wish I had a movie theatre that wasn't an hour and a half away. :(

Oh well. I hope I do go see it later this month. I probably will when I go visit relatives. c:

Jesus

Bump.

Just watched it yesterday. I didn't notice much of the "Weird 48fps" deal, but it was kind of hard to focus my vision when the camera was panning.

It was actually pretty dumb, They added in a bunch of useless stuff that wasn't or barley mentioned in the book. The whole Necromancer deal was not in the book and the of the other wizards was only briefly mentioned in the book. Also the whole fight scene before the eagles came was also not part of the book.
The Goblin cave was also depicted as plain caves in the book, not an elaborate city on stilts.

All in all lots of eye candy and lots of irrelevant scenes.

I liked it
but there was no blood
i mean every 10 seconds someone got decapitated and there was no blood
it was loving weird.
But I liked it, probably because I never read the books.

Getting really bad reviews from critics.

It didn't have the same feel as LOTR, but I really enjoyed it

Idk when Gandalf cut the Goblin King's stomach that kinda got me a little.
