I have a better question: What exactly does a soul do? Is having one any noticeably different from not having one? If not, I see no reason not to sell my soul in exchange for some arcane skill or power.
Edit: This user does not entertain the idea that there really is such thing as a soul... but he admits that if there is it might explain why we have conscious points of view instead of just being input/output machines.
