The point of the game changes over the course of it, which sucked. This one, you maintain the species generated overall.

I actually want to elaborate a little bit more: You start off creating some strange creature all fancy, but then you abruptly lose that ability. They compromise by giving you clothing, buildings, vehicles, etc. to customize. But you lose what was coolest. In this, you can keep creatures evolving, you aren't focused on a single one without choosing to prefer that one over another (In Spore, it'd generate some giant crazy creatures which would wander off or kill you).
