Just a pointer, San Fran is not the sunny beachy joyville that's stereotypical of California. Actually it's cold and foggy. It's wonderful.

If you're near the Studio City area, hit up one of the local coffee shops like Aroma Cafe. Good food.
I'm not a beach guy so I can't recommend much outside the city, but there's definitely a lot to do.
