Author Topic: Probably will need to give a speech against gun control.  (Read 1972 times)

Obviously there's the chance it'll be canceled, otherwise its a project for a class tomorrow.
How to not make this awkward/offensive?

Explain that no matter what we do people will still kill people. Ex: the guy in china/japan who killed a person with a knife and the guy who used a bow and arrow to kill 2 people. Both at school.
here is the bow story: http://www.oregonherald.com/bnews/story.htm?id=462

Quote my father, a police officer. He says murder is the only crime you can't prevent.

And bring up Canada and how there is no gun control there, but there is also no gun crime

It's America's agresive culture, not guns

Guns don't kill people, people kill people.
A gun is just a very efficient tool.

I knew bisjac had to post in here.  :)

If gun control passes, it will honestly just result in illegal guns.

Legal Guns > Illegal Guns

Same with drugs and stuff. People will just find some way to get it.

Give a speech on how to hold your gun so that you can best control it when firing.

...

Er, wait. Some people might find that joke offensive.

No no no, his speach is against gun control.
You must teach them to always hold the gun upside down and try to get 360 headshots every time.

I hold all my guns sideways like a real gangsta.

there is nothing offensive about being pro-gun.

the US culture depended on guns for a revolution. and used them again when the brits tried yet again.

during ww2, the japanese could have theoretically taken half the country, as our navy was crippled and army wernt mobilized.
but Yamamoto: "we cant invade the united states, there is a rifle behind every blade of grass"
so they didnt even try a land invasion.

our own private weapons protect us from both foreign enemies, and our own government from gaining to much power.

the only problem I have with guns that is that they aren't bows or swords

Say that is gun control laws pass, criminals will have no problem breaking them anyway. They already do with what laws we already have (i.e. Class III weapons).
