thinking of upgrading my thinkpad

so, my laptop is a Lenovo Thinkpad, it's a really nice little portable guy. Here's the current specs:

2GB of RAM

111 GB of Hardrive (this is what I really want to upgrade, it's really simple to do.)

Intel Chipset 95 GM Graphics Card

Intel Centrino Dual Processors

1.8 GHz

Windows 7

It's basic right now, but since on most Laptops you cant change the graphics card. I searched and I couldn't find any solutions besides a USB Graphics Card or a E - something i cant remember.

Anyways, if any of you guys know what to do to change a graphics card on a Lenovo Thinkpad that'd be awesome.

For my memory, I was going to get a 500 GB Stick, I think they make 1 TB, I might try that.

Not sure...


What Graphics card / Memory stick should I get?

you mean HDD space, not memory. memory is RAM.

Actually on some laptops you can, it was possible on my gaming laptop, but I had to reinstall windows for it to work

you could only upgrade it should it be a discreet video device integrated into the processor
he does not have processor integrated graphics, nor does his socket support them

If I were you I would just save up for a better system rather than upgrading a stuffty one.

Chances are you don't really need 500GB of space, Instead I'd get a Solid State 320GB drive. they operate lightning fast and if you rely a lot on SWAP they could make your computer run faster.

Hey!  I am being helpful. Trying to keep you from wasting money.

if you get an SSD you can also use it in a new computer should you get one
for a laptop of that horridness i would personally recommend you use Linux on it, which also won't take up as much space as windows 7
so even if you get a low capacity SSD (32GB or higher) you can run Linux on it and store plenty of files perfectly fine.

No it was custom laptop from one of these companies who build laptops with custom selected parts for you and you could disassemble it and change the graphics card (because i got a crap nvidia cause lack of money, and a better one later)
