Author Topic: Opinion about gun control?  (Read 20641 times)

The right to rebellion is what's promised. If you'd like to kiss the government's ass and be systematically stripped of your rights, be my guest.
We apparently have the right to rebellion, but no one has taken down the tyranny yet?

You're stripped of your rights if you take any stance away from the public opinion for the most part.

So when exactly does defying the government start? And how?

when a (all?) states declare war on the fed.
its not gonna be a rebel vs washington kinda thing. you will be fighting for a state

Your argument is invalid as the government isn't a tyrant yet. Having a rebellion at this point would be like cumming while making out.

So when exactly does defying the government start? And how?
Defying authority is already in our hearts. We're all born to defy authority, but we've been artificially molded into conformity. Our molds will all break, but we all have different tolerances. My tolerance is low, and my mold is broken. Defiance doesn't mean senseless murder.

Rebellion happens when the people are ready

when a (all?) states declare war on the fed.

Does it have to be all?

nvm

Does it have to be all?

no

a state army is what a militia is that the bill talks about.
states have no personal armies right now, but at the time of a rebellion there would be.

it relates pretty well, im linking it because it contains some dead people (rather blurry though)

Taking away guns is taking away the people's defense against tyranny and oppression.

exactly what im getting at

The south shall rise again.

The government is comprised of everyday people who sell their power to the corporations who are in it for their own wellbeing. You're rights don't mean stuff to the government.
Actually, they seem to mostly pander to the people for what to do. Obama's main benefactor was the University of California (although Romney's was Goldman Sachs) and a lot of personal donations. I also don't see the government leaning towards this Tea Party wet dream of a totalitarian dictatorship they need to violently revolt against.

The United States is a government of the people, by the people, and for the people. It's impossible to become this dictatorship your speak of when there are hundreds of government officials who are cycled in and out of being just normal citizens. Few are supported by The Corporations, and many don't support motives by the ultra-rich to keep getting richer while the poor suffer. That party is currently losing pretty badly.

The notion that citizens require weaponry is patriotism that is not needed at this time. We are no longer under a dictatorship with no say in the government. We have every say in decisions for we are the government. Arming citizens only results in more harm then good, and is unnecessary. We need to take the hint.

Taking away guns is taking away the people's defense against tyranny and oppression.
Probably the worst argument ever. This concept works in crappy 3rd world stuff, but not in a civilized country where anybody who is born in the country can become the president, and pretty much everybody else can be in the government, as well as having the ability to publish anything non-violent on any source of media, and protest.

states have no personal armies right now, but at the time of a rebellion there would be.
what about the national guards? they're state militias. but they also serve the federal government, if needed (like if martial law is effective). what do they do if, idk, a state secedes from the US or something that would call for a similar decision?
