Author Topic: My school's IT department  (Read 1934 times)

in 3rd grade i was introduced to the computers that had vista

BUT THE DAY BEFORE THEY HAD WINDOWS XP ON THEM :c
XP is old, 7 is all you need.

XP is old, 7 is all you need.
Not when the computers have Pentium D processors.

what
WHAT
Exactly, I'd just moved to this school and seeing Windows7 on school computers had impressed me and then they do that. Afterwords they wondered why the computers seemed more bloated and slow.

XP is old, 7 is all you need.
XP is old, but good nonetheless

some of our computers still have 2000 on them :p

We still run XP thank god.

Ewww intel graphics
Pig disgusting

Uh
My school's IT department consists of an old lady who knows jack stuff about computers.
The only thing she can do is make a computer print. Beyond that I have to fix the problem myself (which I always get in trouble for) or something else. though now my school is turning over to the mac side, and everyone is trying to convince them not to (because no matter how much they suck apple's richard everyone knows that iMac's can't help us be educated) so I tried to uh
uh
how do you put it
destroy the computer from the inside out
and it almost worked
but uh
the period ended so I turned off X11 which they forgot to block (hence me going around deleting files that I thought would break the computer)

>:( now X11 is blocked.

Find a nice big wooly carpet, rub your hands all over it until you get static in them, turn off pc, open pc case, touch mobo, repeat process

You can't really do that with a mac...

The dudes who run the IT department are actually pretty rad in my school. However, for most problems, they just wipe the computer. It's loving stupid

Use Kon Boot to log into the admin account.

I would fix these stupid problems on the school computers at my school too, but they use DeepFreeze.

Our IT people think ie is better than Google chrome because Google chrome is slower than ie, and that ie is more superior than all other browsers.

They also think that computers are slow because the amount of power it gets.

yknow how come monitors have the ability to have their RGB balance altered? kids do that at my school and the monitors get replaced because they're "broken".

My school's IT depart ment is three guys, and they know some stuff, but they really don't get the ways to deal with serious errors and other issues.

Anyone remember that time when school PC firewalls looked like one of those large glass display cases in the mall, broken open?
and when they lacked monitoring software...

Same, though they removed Firefox in favor of Chrome....one year before i got there.
