Author Topic: I need a decent, preferably free video editing program.  (Read 920 times)

Whatever version Windows Vista has is definitely better than WMM 2.6 that Microsoft has on their site somewhere

Less effects and transitions and it keeps breaking the size of videos and making them much smaller, unless that's a problem with Windows 7's non-existing compatibility with that version

Anyway, i'm currently using the trial of Camtasia which can have layers for audio and video but i don't think it has a wide variety of effects and such

There's also Video Pad, but i haven't really used that much and adjusting the positioning of audio in the timeline is super confusing when you've got clips that are shorter than others

I use WLMM
It's not great but I can live with it

I want to see Zwei-Stein, seems pretty good

Funny how your opinion is completely useless to the OP.  iMovie is a good software for on the spot don't know what I'm doing type of situations, but just get the trial of sony vegas for 30 days, should work fine, it's really simple to use as long as your semi computer literate.

my problem with windows movie maker 2.6 is that the audio was always some weird stuff and was like 30 seconds off from where it was supposed to be. You'd click somewhere on the audo line and hit play and it would play the video, but the audio would be in a different place if you saved it like that.

there really needs to be an imovie for windows.

This just in, apple actually makes something useful for windows.  That would actually be pretty loving awesome, except they'd make it cost 700 dollars for just one software suite.

On my previous windows vista computer, The windows movie maker was actually pretty good when compared to windows live movie maker.

I use final cut pro on my mac osx partition and when i go to my windows partition i use Sony Vegas.

Screenflow is great, also do you know how I can make it stop bitching about disk space not being large enough even though I have 40 gbs open for it?
