You MIGHT get really loving lucky if it's angled in front of you (the slanted surface concept was used to great effect on Russia's tanks in WWII), but there's no way you'll react to a muzzle flash and move the sword.

Anyone got any good grenade things like how frag grenades dont kill from the explosion like people think but by the shrapnel hence the name frag(mentation) grenade

In World War 1 and 2 the germans used the stick grenade which was packed with tnt and the blast of the force was strong enough stop organs. It was ineffective out in open.
