So talking to QuantumEagle about the world ending I made a comment about world war 4 and how the world would end like an overpowered player on a RTS game who could wipe everyone out in a matter of seconds.
Then the thoughts of Halo Wars approached me, and I thought this.
I’m good at that game, and do quite well. The matches would last a good hour, and the first half would be construction and getting everything upgraded. What I dislike is when it comes to battles, I love to make it as realistic and war-accurate as possible. I could send in a huge army of grunts, or just two scorpions, but I’d usually have my ground forces plus artillery, air support, orbital support, everything, and It would be very strategic in order to have the best results.
What annoys me is when it’s nearing the end of the game, I have this huge army I’ve spent so long constructing, and the enemy is puny and worthless. I could just attack them and have everything be done, and win, but there’s like no joy to that. I like to make my battles as extensive as possible to see every aspect of the battle.
What are your thoughts about playing a RTS game? And which kind? I know we have a variety, Age of Empires, Starcraft, and in this case, Halo Wars.
And how do you do it? I know there's rushes people like to do, which I personally hate, because it's nothing but running over the game with a handful of medium level or low level units to end the game quickly.
