Admin Applications are a horrible idea

Is it just me that think that those stupid "Fill this application and I'll give you admin" is rather stupid?
 The person handing out these stupid applications wouldn't know what the people filling them out actually act like, and if they will actually amount to their "application"
Hell, I could fill out those things and get admin, and screw the persons stuff up, granted the person handing out these applications was dumb enough to just admin random people because of words they plopped into an app.
i'm sorry, but does anyone else find admin applications stupid? It's the cleaner version of asking for admin if I should say.

The problem is that these admins probably don't care about your server. At all. They're clearly power hungry, that's the only reason they'd submit an application in the first place.

Yes, I always reserve administrator privileges for those I know on a personal level (or as personal as you can get over the internet).  I think giving moderator that way or based on reputation isn't a bad idea though.

Moderators, perhaps. I'm a mod on Tezuni's jail rp, and I got that because he saw my potential in the game and how I play late hours which relate in no other admins being on to kick the freekillers.

2. Reason why you want to be admin: I wish to help out the new Boss Battles server
3. Must have 1 recommendation: Aura (BL_ID: 30228)
4. How will you use admin: I will help and ONLY help. Not hurt. I am very good at eventing so in case you need me to make a Boss or a Character I'd be there. I'm a doormat and I love it. I will help and help until we reach perfection. I will not abuse admin and if I am abusing admin I will take full punishment and/or Permanent Ban. I will always report an admin abusing or violating rules.
I shall always obey the rules and I pledge to enforce them.

I actually check with the people who suggested them and ask them how they did, that determined my decision, yes most of the time it's a dumb idea but if you put limits and actually check with the suggesters, it can be fine.

If I were to give out applications, I would interview them first via RTB, and get to know them, that host a private server to see how he acts. And if I trust him he'll get Admin, and if he trolls, tooken off admin list and a perma-ban for a while.

Still, I'd rather feel comfortable admining people I have a relate connection to, even if it's just "That person I see on my server a lot" It's dedication. These fill outs is like fish bait, most people probably just fill them out so they can be admin.

understandable, what you are basing is an opinion, something you shouldn't force, i agree in some standards.

so if they don't act how you want them to act to be an admin, you perma ban them, trolling really shouldn't be worth a permanent ban unless they have done something to add onto that ban with.

I would never leave you alone in a server with admin.

Perma ban for a time, like a month. Not forever.
