NEURON
(or something)

Wait, what?
Neuron is a space-ish shooter game reminiscent of Starfox 64. It's developed by ThinkInvisible.
It involves controlling a lone vehicle, as usual, driving through endless landscapes to destroy
as-of-yet-nameless enemies, as usual. Standard, run-of-the-mill game.

Except for the fact that it's in 3D.

Gameplay Mechanics
In Neuron, the player controls a tank rolling across terrain and structures. It is capable of
jumping and changing its speed slightly. The player views it from behind and slightly above.
The player is capable of firing a laser turret mounted to the top of the ship. Holding down
the LEFT MOUSE BUTTON will charge the laser. The longer you charge it, the more shots it
will fire and the less accurate they will be, up to 10 shots.
Firing and jumping adds to the HEAT meter. The heat meter measures how close the tank's
internal workings are to magically turning into piles of slag. If the player fills the heat meter,
the ship will enter overheat mode. The player will be unable to fire or jump for several
precious seconds, and they will lose health too.
The HEALTH meter measures the tank's integrity. If it runs out the tank will fall apart.
The health meter is depleted by being hit by enemy fire or overheating.

All of my yes.

Download?
If I post an EXE everyone will freak out all everywhere and I might be banned.
If I post the installer file that VB can make it will be ugly because the VB installer sucks.
If I post source code it will be stolen/forked.

Maybe when most of the features are implemented I'll host it on my dropbox site.

The DLL, i mean. The thing I need to use it in VB.

Adding terrain. Going to make a random chance for large hills to appear, too.
This terrain appears at the far end of the field and slides smoothly towards the player before disappearing:

Collision with this stuff is going to be damn tricky.

Anyone know how to find the normal of a rectangle? The method I'm using is acting weird.
Never mind, I was just using it wrong!

I like it, i can't wait to try it out.

Hey, does anyone know how I would direct VB's Publish feature to publish to Dropbox?
Never mind. Apparently this only works with IE8. Stoopid.

Can anyone recommend an installer builder... thing?
Or a way to launch an application from a website?

yusssssssss

the video gives me gargantuan brainboners

Anyone have a shoutbox script/site they trust? I want to add one to the site for bug reporting.
Also, I managed to get the ClickOnce application working. I just can't make it an online application because it uses an XML file, which will just show as text in most browsers.

Sounds update!
Has anyone tested this yet? If so, noticed any bugs?
