There's nothing worst than your computer suddenly coming up with a bsod
Nothing.

I was trying to instal linux on my computer, did the installer thing, decided to abort until I could learn how to actually instal it...
On reboot it just froze on "boot from dvd/cd:"

I paniced for a while, then relaized my cell phone was plugged in to charge, and that made the computer try to boot from it.

I'd rather have IUV than you.

i accidentally caused a bootloop on/soft-bricked my rather new Galaxy Nexus when trying to flash AOKP
i managed to get it back to fully working stock after a bit of messing around though

I have never gotten a BSOD after all these years yay
I haven't either

It's not really that hard to avoid BSOD.
I always do regular maintenance on all my computers.

regular maintenance is not necessary to avoid a BSOD

regular maintenance is not necessary to avoid a BSOD
Maybe +Some common sence I don't install hardware drivers for hardware I don't have.
Some maintenance is required, somewhat. You can't just use it everyday and expect it to not crash at somepoint...

What's your problem?

freeky!

never had a bsod before :o

The only BSoD I had recently was an ACPI failure (something like that) when it took too long to restart, after AMD Catalyst installed.
