I think Samsung are trying to reinvent what the tablet is to try and create a niche for their stuff products in the already over saturated tablet segment. Just checked out that note thing for the first time, it's so loving ugly, why do they use so much plastic?

Also lol at above, email is fundamental, drawing is a pointless gimmick, poor argument.
the only thing about looks that matter to me is the front of the loving tablet.
and i like how the front looks and feels, also front facing speakers. dont forget looks is a personal opinion.
im getting a case with it anyways so the back is pretty much there for extra protection.

drawing is a pointless gimmick?

well, stuff mon, you just insulted the drawing tablet market which is really big, samsung partnered with the most popular drawing tablet company to provide a really great android tablet, and believe it or not it worked and it worked big time.

everybody loves drawing on it, its precise and the expandable memory really helps.

if anything it lived up to what its made for: taking notes, drawing and even just a normal android tablet.

hell, its gonna be even faster now that its upgradable to 4.1 jellybea-

holy stuff forgot about the super outdating fiasco that is apple.
would you be surprised if i told you that i actually have 5 year old tech and it runs like new? this is also an android tablet i have which is 2.3 and can still run many apps of today.

why the forget would you draw on a tablet lol use a pencil

Um. Me. And it works amazing.

but can i use a stylus to draw with perfect precision and pressure sensitivity with palm rejection? the note has a wacom style screen with perfect precision and pressure sensitivity with palm rejection.
can i expand the memory?
does it have amazing drawing apps just like android?

if it fails to have the drawing style styluses then the ipad is worthless to me.

I have a conductive pen and I draw with it. It would be nice to have palm rejection but it's not that hard to learn to not rest your hand on the screen. Also, I use ArtStudio Pro for all my art and its like a mini photoshop in any sense of the term.

palm rejection is an essential for my drawing needs i dont know how i can live without it.

i have photoshop touch preloaded with the tablet for free but im probably gonna buy sketchbook pro because its better then photoshop touch on the note i tried at best buy.

i dont understand this point and why everyone makes it. if a person can genuinely afford apple products, they're also the kind of person who likes having new things every few years so it doesn't really matter

I have a question, why would you want to draw on a tablet?
I'm just saying. It would be kinda awkward.

i agree, such a gimmick, professionals or anyone serious about art use actual graphics tablets, who are the drawing capabilities of android tablets made for? all i can think of is children

with the note, imagine drawing on paper with all kinds of colors and brushes to choose from.

people who want to draw on the go. laptops have poor battery life in general so tablets have to pick up the slack.
nobodies gonna pay $1300 for a macbook air with 11 hours of battery life and then another $100 for a graphics tablet when the galaxy note can do exactly that and still have most of the functionality of the mac and also more portable for half of the price.

the tablet was marketed at normal artists, as in, drawing for fun and drawing pieces of art that other people must see, those aren't limited to graphics tablets you know and it can also be awkward for quite a bit of people to use a graphics tablet.

I tried Sketchbook but the way the lines felt was gross. ArtStudio feels fluid and has a lot of the editing and adjustment features photoshop and Paint.NET would (like color/hue/saturation/lightness adjustments and such), that Sketchbook just doesn't have.

Because with other tablets such as Bamboo by Wacom, there is the disconnection factor. I can draw directly onto the surface with the iPad. It's very similar to drawing on paper, so you feel right at home as an artist. "Oh but they have tablets with screens on them", yeah for upwards $1k.

does it have most of the great things about sketchbook?

if so, i might try it.

It has just about everything Sketchbook has (as far as I can tell and have explored), and moooooore. It also has line smoothing which is ridiculously nice.

its also ios specific unfortunately.
back to looking for an android drawing app.
what about layer paint?

Ah that's unfortunate. ArtStudio and Sketchbook are the only two apps I've had experience with. I mean, Sketchbook isn't bad, I just connect as well with it as I did with ArtStudio.

wait a minute, what version of sketchbook and what type: free or pro?

i heard pro is centuries better then free.
