Author Topic: To all who want a new PC!  (Read 1632 times)

If you were thinking if picking up a new PC or building one, I just want to adivse you that in June 2013, Intel will release their line of processors called Haswell. Haswell will have a somewhat better GPU clock speed, most importantly is that it will have a new socket called LGA 1150, which means new motherboards will have to be made

So you can either wait til June or build one now, I would say wait since if you were to build your PC now you would be stuck with Ivy bridge as your final processor.

most importantly is it better than AMD FX

Ivy bridge processors have competed with the A10, the A10 was stil better but the Ivy bridge was close behind, maybe the Haswell will be a close call.

will the processors still be referred to as core or something else?

So.. How well would it do on say for instance: Skyrim? Because I have a regular Intel processor and you can already guess how well it plays Skyrim :/

You don't know anything about computers do you

what one

Yeah, I'm gonna wait to make my computer just because Intel is coming out with something new in the next year.
Or you know, I could just make one now and still have around the same quality of a machine.

Thing is, the next processors that come out after Haswell will all use the same socket LGA 1150. Sandy and Ivy Bridge are LGA 1555 or something, you will be limiting yourself only to ivy bridge.

I'm not really worried about that.  I don't plan on updating my new computer for a very long time.  And when I do I'll probably just be making a new one.

Technology updates so quickly it feels like such a waste of money to try and stay near the top.

As long as you can run what you normally use acceptably, there is never any reason to upgrade your hardware.

either way, it doesn't really matter.
I'm not going to wait until next year to build something that could be near the same quality as what I already have.

OP is wrong, there's nothing wrong with ivy bridge, limiting yourself to ivy bridge is not a bad thing in the slightest. The real reason that it is a good idea to wait is that all other intel CPUs will very likely drop significantly in price. If you don't feel like waiting to get a better monetary deal, then go ahead and build one now
