Author Topic: Maps ever going to be added back?  (Read 2947 times)

its easy to assume he just didn't understand, removal of interiors and terrain + addition of shaders, not everyone understands coding
Id wait to hear from badspot before i made assumptions

This is a game were you build stuff, not wander around on laggy, buggy, badly coded terrain.
They are NEVER adding it back.

underline- so you can't build on terrain?
slash- its called fixing things
bold- bricks are coded too lmao

Maps/terrain and interiors were removed because they were impeding further progress in adding new features to the game.
They were badly implemented, and the only way they're going to be added back is when there's a better, more efficient way to implement them into the engine.

Way to go jumping on the bandwagon and making false assumptions while also looking like an arse.

Please point me to where Badspot said "NOPE MAPS ARE NEVER COMING BACK EVER NOPE NOPE NOPE." Otherwise, anyone saying "no" could be wrong.

shader compatibility is not mainly why kompressor took them out

Engineer did not change it was edited, Maps will come back.
Nope.avi

Thanks for the answers, I do understand how the code works, and someone told me the game had been ported to a new engine: which would explain why there hasn't been any updates in a long time between the version before shading, and the version that had shading.

So that person was wrong.

Shame the terrains were removed, there was always lots of places to build.
Well, if Badspot adds more content to Blockland, it will make up for the mundanity since   the terrain removal...

I would like to see, however, some default terrain bricks, along with default brick terrain maps.  Although I am not an avid supporter for terrain, as I never used it/them, I feel that they were a well used and inclusive part of Blockland.  Returning to the previous terrain features would be deleterious to the progression of Blockland, which is why a simple change to defaulted brick terrain would do better - or perhaps an increase in released brick-map saves would do us good.  I do plan on releasing any and all terrain I make for my TDMs, so that might kickstart brick-maps.

I remember a long time ago before shaders were even mentioned I was on Badspot's Block Party while he was there, and asked him if he was even going to add more maps like the bedroom or kitchen, and he stated how he thought interior maps were lame.

i miss maps :/
I don't lol

Glitchy pieces of stuff...won't be missed in my book. I hardly used them anyway.

i don't recall many glitches? could you name a few?
