idk i was just thinking about this because i have a mac and i've seen some people say you don't need an antivirus and other people say you do

No not really, Didn't get any Virus's with OS X. But if you do want it, Here is a good one.

There are many viruses designed for mac. I'd get a free antivirus just in case.

True. But as long as you stay away from shady sites you should be fine.

that's true for any computer lol
but yeah, just be smart on the internet

don't be a dumb friend and you won't get HIV is basically like saying don't be a dumb friend and you won't get a virus.

i run a mac too

the only reason macs get less viruses is because less people use mac, so virus creators create less viruses for them

Considering you're shyGriff, it's probably a good idea.

I mean that in the nicest way possible!

get avast for mac, that's what i used

ABSOLUTELY.  mac's are high prized targets for hackers.

I just adore it when people say "i use (terrible anti-virus) and i haven't gotten any viruses!!!", because they probably had quite a lot of spyware but they had absolutely no idea. Other than that, yeah, Macs are pretty much some of the easiest computers that hackers infect because the owners don't install anti-virus. You definitely need an anti-virus.

Get an antivirus. Pretty sure at some point it was proven that macs are no more secure than Windows computers, and that computers running the Windows OS are only infected by more viruses because they're targeted more.

I've never been on a Mac (other than in school), but I'd recommend having an anti-virus just to be safe. Common sense works as well.
