you even said it was confusing
how the forget am I supposed to learn that

Don't.

FL Studio can do pretty much everything you need it to, and there's not much of a reason to switch to Ableton other than interface preference, especially after FL 11 added launchpad support.

Depends on what you want to make. Just search "fl studio tutorial" then whatever genre, like "fl studio house tutorial" or whatever.

It's a matter of preference, just try the trials and see which one you think you can work with best and figure out easier.
Sure there are "pros" out there using it, but there are "pros" out there using FL too.

So like Muddy Water's "Electric Mud" album, Chuck Berry's red Gibson, and Littler Walter's electrified harmonica...? Im sorry am I missing something? Gotta love dem old tunes.

I don't want to sound stupid here, but what would be good for making music / what do you guys make your music with? Accessories, programs etc. Where did you guys learn, I'm wanting to learn how to make music and start producing because it seems really fun.
It is fun, and I'm still learning as well, but if you want to get your feet wet without spending any money or downloading anything (just to see if you like it/get started), I'd suggest http://audiotool.com. It's pretty awesome for an online tool, although I myself am looking to upgrade now. BTW, is FL Studio available for Mac?

I've heard rumors that a Mac version is in the works. Ableton has a Mac version though.

Hehe... Ableton... Mac users love it, but it's so expensive! Gah, it's not like I have anywhere near enough to buy a professional, well rounded DAW right now anyway, though.

Oh, and since no one seems to care about it in its own topic: http://audiotool.com/track/imagination_extensive. What do y'all think? I think I have gotten better at being less repetitive and more original with my effects/melodies, but I still have trouble getting my synths where I want them. I'm thinking this is partially audiotool's limitations, but also me too. Any tips on getting nice sounding synths?

Whats would this be classified as?

I know this is electronic and rock, I just don't know what it would be called.
