"Hey son, I just got a new and free anti-virus for us called "Nava Shield"."

no thats a virus get thinkpoint

no thats a virus get thinkpoint
how about smart internet protection 2013

no. AV 2011.
Screw that, I recommend AVG and Norton! Yes, I know they're both real, but Norton is known for being terrible, and AVG sucks from my experience.

One day I was browsing the forums, and my anti-virus started going crazy.  Saying it was detecting viruses all over the forums..

After browsing, I cleaned my computer and there were 2 viruses on it.  This lasted on the forums for about a week, I still have no idea what was happening.

Back when I didn't know a lot about viruses (or computers in general) I ended up clicking on an ad while browsing youtube that said something along the lines of "Play free mario games online!". After the site loaded, I was immediately greeted with a nice little fake anti virus popup. Being the ignorant person I was, I believed it and clicked remove. It then downloaded a bunch of random junk onto my computer and a nice little hijacking virus. A few panicking sessions later, I finally managed to remove it.

That was a couple of years ago, the little bitch was called Mighty Magoo. Sometimes I think it's still lurking somewhere on my computer...

My old computer fried years ago. Nice smell of burning computer flesh.

Sounds like my story in the OP, minus the things it did after I was tricked by the AV, for some reason it's completely blank.

When I got blockland I played on this desktop and for some reason it crashed some times. then I was playing BL and it was loading for the loading screen on bedroom and my computer's motherboard died. :( Couldnt play bl for a long time because I had no computer.

Motherboards themselves are very inexpensive.

I used to have this computer which was on the verge of complete death for about 4 years, I couldn't run installers over about 150mb in size without getting some sort of error, all similar sized rar and zip archives were always corrupt and couldn't be extracted, programs would constantly and randomly crash and my graphics card drivers were extremely unstable, it ran in this state for 4 years before finally giving out a year or two ago.

RIP Magic-PC - Survived on pixie-dust for 4 years but finally succumbed to a corrupt BIOS with no way to flash it.

But that's only one half of the story, the other half is one time I got a virus that was supposed to silently execute on startup and hide itself from taskmanager before anything else could boot up.
I say supposed because my computer was so broken that every time I started up my PC I was greeted with a "virusname.exe has encountered an error and must be shut down", it and every other virus quite simply could not run on my old computer, it was so broken that they couldn't even start up without crashing

$100+ for a good mobo
But an entire computer of the same build quality would be 650+ so yeah.
