Yes but don't expect to be using it professionally.
If you want to learn something worthwhile, I'd go with C++ but it can be scary for beginners.

Im not gonna use it professionally im doing it as a hobby and for fun.

EDIT: I already know Lua so will torque be hard to move to?

You can just switch from one kind of brick to a longer or shorter one, it'll look just like you're resizing it. It's plenty possible

Yeah, what Mysteroo said, it is possible, sorta like the trench warfare mod, the bricks resize themselves to smaller sizes instead of static shapes
